Ukrainian Week in the UK: 3–14 November — events start

Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports, within the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies (GCUS) initiative, announces the start of Ukrainian Week in the UK — a series of events across leading UK universities to deepen educational and cultural ties.

From 3–14 November, Ukrainian Week in the United Kingdom will take place: online events on 3–9 Nov, followed by an in-person week of high-level visits on 10–13 Nov in Belfast, St Andrews, Cardiff, Cambridge and London (Birkbeck/Senate House).

For whom. For students and faculty, researchers, cultural managers, donors and media — to build cooperation and take part in the programme.

How to join. Review the day-by-day programme by themes (Historical Memory; Contemporary Culture; Science, Technology & Innovation; and a concluding conference with the signing of memoranda of cooperation) and join online or on campus.

Details. The initiative is organised by the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies (GCUS), operating under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and in joint coordination with the President of Ukraine’s Fund for Education, Science and Sports, the Ukrainian Institute, and the Representation of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; partners include leading universities and institutions in the United Kingdom and Ukraine. The final events will be held in London and include official remarks, MoU signings, and a cultural programme.

Thematic days: each day highlights a distinct theme that showcases Ukraine’s multidimensionality.
10 Nov — Historical Memory and Ukrainian Statehood (Belfast);
11 Nov — Contemporary Ukrainian Culture (St Andrews);
12 Nov — Science, Technology & Innovation (Cardiff);
13 Nov — Contemporary Ukrainian Culture (Cambridge); Conference on Strategic Partnership in Education and Science (Birkbeck, University of London) and the closing event with MoU signings (London).
