Launch of the international UK–UA STEM PRO program: professional development of STEM teachers and young scientists

Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports is launching a new training program for teachers of Ukrainian higher education institutions.

UK–UA STEM PRO is an international professional development program for Ukrainian teachers and young scientists in STEM fields, created to strengthen cooperation between the academic communities of Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

The program provides participants with modern knowledge, practical tools and international contacts so that scientific research goes beyond laboratories and turns into technologies, innovative products and partnerships with business.

Its goal is to promote the creation of sustainable ties between universities, scientific institutions and the business sector of Ukraine.

The program includes three stages:

Educational part (November 2025 – January 2026)

10 online seminars with the participation of British professors, business representatives and the Ukrainian academic diaspora in the United Kingdom. Topics include current trends in STEM, pedagogical approaches, international grant opportunities, technology transfer and commercialization of research. Participants will learn how to turn research into products and technologies, create partnerships with business and develop innovation in universities.

Study visit to the UK (February 2026)

Following the results of the internal competition, the 10 most active participants will visit the University of Warwick and partner institutions. The visit program includes visits to laboratories, innovation hubs, science foundations and companies, as well as meetings with British teachers, researchers and business partners.

Final stage (March 2026)

Participants will develop and implement practical projects in collaboration with Ukrainian business, using the experience of British colleagues. The results will be presented during the STEM Innovation Showcase – the final event of the program dedicated to innovation and academic-business cooperation.

Special attention is paid to female leadership in STEM and support for young researchers.

Who can apply:

teachers and young scientists of Ukrainian higher education institutions and scientific institutions in STEM fields: PhDs under 35 years of age and Doctors of Science under 40 years of age, as well as teachers of any age who received their PhD no more than 10 years ago;
