The Fund of the President of Ukraine and Activitis Education to Digitalise Talent Engagement and Expand the Visiting Professors Programme

The Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science, and Sports and Activitis Education has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. This strategic partnership outlines joint efforts to strengthen programmes supporting talented youth, digitalise engagement across the Fund’s programmes, and further develop international education initiatives, including the UK–UA Visiting Professors Programme.

The cooperation will focus on coordinating initiatives aimed at supporting intellectually gifted youth, expanding educational opportunities, recognising academic excellence, advancing the internationalisation of higher education, and facilitating knowledge exchange.

A key component of the Memorandum is the joint development of digital solutions for engaging with talented youth. The system will enable a comprehensive talent development pipeline—from identification and support to participation in educational, research, international, and career opportunities.

“We work with young people who already demonstrate strong achievements and need the next step: high-quality programmes, international exposure, and clear career pathways. Collaboration with and support from Ukrainian business will allow us to scale our programmes, develop digital solutions, and engage more effectively with our talents. For young people, this means fewer barriers and more accessible development opportunities in Ukraine,”
said Olga Budnyk, Advisor–Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Fund.

“At Activitis Education, we have long been working to provide vocational education for young people and equip them with practical skills. Together with the President of Ukraine’s Foundation for Education, Science, and Sport, this work will reach new heights. We will support and strengthen the strong – investing in the best. Thanks to the Foundation’s expertise, resources will be directed towards truly important and effective initiatives that help develop the country’s human capital,”
said Kateryna Zhukovska, Head of the Centre for Education and Partnership Development at Activitis Education.

Another important area of cooperation is the further development of the Fund’s Visiting Professors Programme. The existing UK–UA Visiting Professors Programme enables Ukrainian universities to host professors from leading UK institutions, providing students with access to modern academic approaches, international expertise, and direct interaction with foreign faculty—without leaving Ukraine.

“For the Fund, this partnership is essential for delivering concrete initiatives that encourage talented young people to study, grow, and build their careers in Ukraine. Youth are a key pillar of Ukraine’s resilience and recovery,”
emphasised Yuriy Petrushenko, Director of the Fund.

The partnership with Activitis Education will support the next phase of the programme, making it possible to invite international professors to Ukrainian universities again in the upcoming autumn–winter semester and expand access to global learning opportunities within Ukraine.

For Ukraine, this cooperation forms part of a broader effort to retain and develop talent. Amid Russia’s full-scale war, the country needs young people who study, innovate, and contribute to national development while remaining integrated into Ukraine’s educational and professional ecosystem and gaining international experience domestically.
