Invitation to Expert Online-Discussion: Cybersecurity in the Context of War with a Focus on Ukraine’s Experience in the Field of Cybersecurity
With the onset of full-scale russian aggression, Ukraine has faced a series of challenges that are inherently complex and difficult, especially when seeking solutions during wartime. However, the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians to withstand and prevail has created cases worthy of pride and study in academic circles.
The Fund of the President of Ukraine for the support of Education, Science, and Sports initiates an upcoming online event dedicated to cybersecurity during war and the study of Ukraine’s experience. Key experts, industry leaders, and representatives from governmental institutions will share insights into cyber challenges, strategies, technologies, and policies implemented in Ukraine.

Speakers:
- Oleksiy Baranovsky – Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden; presenting findings from his case study on cybersecurity in Ukraine and responses to Russian cyber attacks since 2014.
- Anders Carlsson – Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden; discussing lessons European countries can learn from Ukraine’s experience in cybersecurity.
- Oleksandr Potiy – Deputy Head of the State Special Communications and Information Protection Service of Ukraine; presenting Ukrainian experience in countering Russian cyber attacks and cybersecurity policies.
- Ioana Bureanu – Director of the Surrey Centre for Cyber Security; exploring how the war in Ukraine is changing the global cybersecurity landscape and the challenges faced by researchers in the field of cybersecurity.
