The Plenipotentiary Advisor to the President of Ukraine on the Fund of the President of Ukraine joined the peace initiative, which united over a thousand participants from all over the world

On August 25, 2025, the second National Prayer Breakfast was held in the capital under the patronage of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The event became a platform for a sincere conversation about values, faith, freedom, responsibility and the power of joint prayer in the darkest moments of history.

The event brought together more than 1,000 participants, including Ukrainian high-ranking officials, representatives of the clergy, military and chaplains, families of fallen heroes, charitable organizations and youth leaders. About 350 participants represented foreign delegations and international communities. The National Prayer Breakfast was attended by the Plenipotentiary Advisor to the President of Ukraine on the Fund of the President of Ukraine, Olga Budnyk.

Among the honored guests were Keith Kellogg (Special Representative of the US President for Ukraine), Elijah Brown (Secretary General of the Baptist World Alliance), Edward Graham (Chief Operating Officer of the international mission “Samaritan’s Purse”), Bob McEwen (Chairman of the National Policy Council of the US Republican Party).

The participants received words of support from the leaders of the largest Christian communities in the world, including Pope Leo XIV, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Stephen Cottrell of York.

In his address to the participants of the event, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized:
“Today, the battle between good and evil continues. Russia continues to attack, kill, torture, destroy. And this must be stopped. I believe that together we can achieve this. To achieve peace that will be stable and lasting. This is what all our prayers are for today. They are heard in hundreds of different languages from friends from all over the world, but they are definitely united in the main thing – understanding what good and evil are and whose side we are on.

A feature of this year’s event was the completion of the global 24-hour prayer initiative, which began on August 24, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, and united people around the world in prayer for peace and justice.

Event partners: MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation, OKKO, FUIB, Kyivstar, Farmak pharmaceutical company, Hepatica Foundation.
